Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Manager-Cobble Hill Ambulatory Surgery-Day Shift (35 Hours).
In this role, the successful candidate Oversees ASC finances and business processes for the NYU Langone System. The person is responsible for daily ASC business operations including supervision of business staff, development and maintenance of policies and procedures as they relate to financial management, compliance with regulatory requirements, financial management and reporting, contract management, billing practices, capital planning, management of inventory (equipment and supplies), oversight of maintenance of business equipment and supplies, and oversight of fiscal management of ASC. Must be self-directed and have ability to make complex decisions independently
Job Responsibilities:
- Fiscal & Strategic Planning: Works with directors and managers in planning and ensuring the most cost-effective method of delivering quality services is implemented; as well as ASC day to day operations. Prepares business and operational plans for new ventures including pathology space planning, equipment purchasing, product replacements, inventory control, rental contracts, PM contracts, and business growth. Assists in preparation of staffing and capital requests. Prepares cost per case, profit margin per case, comparison to benchmarks and similar reports for management.
- Contract Management: Manages maintenance of all contracts for the department. Works with legal and/or sourcing to maintain all contracts and works with sourcing and vendors to secure favorable pricing and operational processes for the department. Works with various departmental directors and managers to ensure operational processes are reflected within the contract terms.
- Manages accounts payable and purchasing processes for the department. This includes invoice reconciliation for all outsourced services prior to approval payment.
- Capital management oversight: Creates and maintains capital equipment list for department, tracks annual spend on capital equipment, works with sourcing to finalize capital quotes and submits capital requests for approval as required. Works with vendors to maintain favorable contract pricing. Works with leadership to ensure all PM contract are in place annually.
- Takes initiative, works independently and as a member of the management team, time utilization and multi-tasking.
- Prepares business and operational plans for the ASC space planning, equipment purchasing and product replacements.
- Coordinates patient scheduling and oversees ASC scheduling staff. Coordinates revenue cycle and medical records activities with appropriate departments at Tisch and Hospital for Joint Diseases
- Manages billing practices as applicable. Develops and runs reports to track volume growth and expenses
- Identifies and recommends cost reduction/ containment and revenue enhancement programs. Assists in implementation and monitoring when appropriate. Works with managers directors when necessary to achieve improvements.
- Provides annual personnel and supply expense budgets for ASC. Maintains budget spreadsheets and monitors and manages variances in revenue and expenses during fiscal year. Creates budget modifications when necessary.
- Provides input for the development and implementation of new programs, services, and workflow changes. Assists in assessing the financial progress of all new ventures in the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Public Health, Business, or Health Administration field preferred.
Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred.
Experience with MSS and Kronos
Experience with Excel spreadsheets and powerpoint

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $107,780.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
