Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director - Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine - Full Time, Days.
Provides strategic and operational leadership for the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, working closely with hospital leadership to ensure quality outcomes and program success. Oversees day-to-day operations and Human Resources functions. Supervises Nurse Manager and administratively supports oversight of the Physicians. Key areas of responsibility include program financial performance, hospital and physician relationships, clinical performance of the program, regulatory compliance (including CMS, DOH and TJC), community education, leadership, recruitment and development of the program staff. Provides direct clinical care for Hyperbaric patients as needed. Performs all other job duties pertaining to specialty.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Day-to-Day management of the department providing leadership to all disciplines including Medical Director and Associate Director.
- Interviews, hires and evaluate staff.
- Develops, directs and supervises practice staff regarding job duties, responsibilities and time efficiency. Maintains personnel files including updated job descriptions. Maintains time sheets for payroll. Ensure that staff receive appropriate training for tasks. Develops and maintains practice-specific orientation and policies and procedures. Responsible for the time efficiency of staff members which includes ensuring there is no abuse of downtime and/or overtime.
- Responsible for the appropriate training of front desk responsibilities including customer service, interactions with providers, patients and other support staff, and diversity to medical secretaries and medical assistants. Works with front desk to identify and maintain efficiency. Monitors front desk staff to be sure they are responding to all patient follow-up requests by providers through the EMR and or verbally. Responsible for recruiting and hiring as applicable.
- Oversees the departmental budget, supporting financial performance, cost-effective operations, and appropriate resource utilization. Maintains finance reports and submits annual budgets in a timely manner. Monitors practice expenses, including medical/surgical supplies and office supplies; oversees supply ordering and inventory control. Ensures timely submission of invoices and capital requests, including required documentation and justifications.
- Arranges for in-service training programs and continuing educational programs. Ensures employee knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures to comply with TJC, DOH and/or CMS standards.
- Leads strategic planning, program development, and efforts to strengthen and grow the wound care and hyperbaric medicine program in collaboration with hospital leadership and physician partners to support evolving patient and organizational needs.
- Responsible for the maintenance of provider schedules to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner. Responsible for oversight of schedule changes and ensuring patients are re-scheduled appropriately. Monitors that staff are maintaining efficiency with patient registration which includes assisting patients with EMR intake paperwork, questions, etc.
- Works collaboratively with outside property managers to perform maintenance with little or no disruption to practice hours. Meets with Project managers to plan and facilitate enhancement and expansion. Monitors safety and compliance issues in accordance with requirements from applicable regulation agencies and OSHA. Maintains healthy working relationship with building manager and security team at office location. Assists with contracts for cleaning and exterminating companies.
- Supports billing and credentialing departments by providing necessary information timely. Maintains working knowledge of appropriate aspects of insurance plans and billing regulations.
- Provides reports and data as requested in a timely manner.
- Evaluates and maintains a Performance Improvement program in concert with the Medical Director and prepares reports for submission and review for presentation.
- Keeps current regarding advances in wound care, hyperbaric medicine and management by attending seminars and meetings related to job function.
- Oversee the HBO Safety Director and maintains responsibility for center staff and patient safety. Works with the building owner to coordinate safety drills.
- Maintains adherence to policies and procedures of the practice. Updates policies and procedures as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a CHT required. Bachelor's Degree in related field required; Masters preferred, 7-9 years Health Care environment and 3-5 years demonstrated management experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, leadership skills. Excellent multitasking skills often switching from one to another without loss of efficiency. Strong computer skills.

The salary range for the role is $98,663.70 - $166,508.26 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
