Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager.

We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Project Manager to oversee and coordinate our AI Core initiatives. In this role, you will partner with research scientists, clinicians, engineers, and external stakeholders to define program roadmaps, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure seamless execution of AI projects across the model development lifecyclefrom data acquisition and infrastructure build-out through deployment in clinical workflows. As a key liaison between NYULH leadership and technical teams, you will drive alignment with MCIT policies, regulatory standards, and institutional goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning and Execution
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive program roadmaps, defining milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teamsincluding software engineers, data scientists, and clinical investigatorsto ensure timely delivery of infrastructure and pilot studies.
    • Track progress against goals, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as primary point of contact for internal leadership (MCIT, clinical departments, research labs) and external industry partners.
    • Facilitate regular program reviews, reporting on status, budget, and key performance indicators.
    • Gather and synthesize requirements from investigators and translate them into actionable project plans.
  • Financial & Resource Oversight
    • Manage program budgets, forecasting expenditures for hardware, software, and personnel.
    • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and mentoring of project coordinators or junior program staff.
    • Ensure efficient allocation of high-performance computing and cloud resources.
  • Process & Compliance
    • Establish and enforce best practices for project management, documentation, and quality assurance.
    • Ensure all program activities adhere to MCIT policies, institutional protocols, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., HIPAA, FDA).
    • Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and incorporation of lessons learned.
  • Communication & Change Management
    • Develop clear communication plans to keep stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and successes.
    • Prepare executive-level presentations, briefing materials, and dashboards.
    • Lead change management efforts to promote adoption of AI tools and workflows across clinical and research teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Prior project management experience in a technical environment, preferably within healthcare or life sciences
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder programs with cross-functional teams
Strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within scope

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
Experience working in an academic medical center or large health system or technology company.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle, data governance, anad biomedical research workflows.
Regulatory exposure.
Prior experience managing industry relationships and partnerships.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $95,660.84 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
