Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Anesthesia Tech I.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for stocking all anesthetic supplies for ORs. Maintaining all anesthetic equipment. Insuring anesthetic equipment is available Responds to codes within the limitation of the job responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Patient Care
- Responds to Codes in line with duties
Equipment
- Calibrates and runs Quality Control and Quality Assurance analysis
- Calibrates and trouble-shoots anesthesia machines
- Sets up Level I RIS, syringe pumps, capnographs, TEG and TEEs
- Sets up intravenous, central venous, arterial, pulmonary artery catheters using sterile techniques, percutaneous introducer kits, double lumen kits, triple lumen kits, long arm CVP kits, chest tubes, ARNDT blockers, univent tubes, trans-tracheal intubations, fiberoptic scopes, LMAs, tube changers, jet ventilation and resuscitation bags.
- Clears debris and equipment from the surface and drawers of used anesthesia machines.
- Ensures the sterility and cleanliness of all machines
- Performs all standard procedural checks on equipment
- Assists with trouble shooting technical problems
- Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment
- Informs Engineering and supervisor of needed repairs
Supplies
- Checks machine drawers to insure they are well stocked
- Makes available fluids, Lactated Ringers, Plasma Lite, Normal Saline, Hespan, Flextend, FFP, Whole Blood and Albumin
- Disposes of supplies used in regular and contaminated cases
Gases
- Ensures medical pipeline is operational, including N2O, O2 and Medical Air
- Checks the status of nitrous oxide, nitrogen and carbon dioxide cylinder banks to determine available supply pressure
- Replaces empty cylinders
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Education Required
One year of work experience in a periop area or related field and/or familiarity with OR drug and equipment terminology required
Must be able to Read, write, follow instructions
Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Basic computer skills.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,257.00 - $67,257.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
