BENEFITS
All adjunct faculty are required to be part of the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System (MPSERS). Adjunct faculty are eligible to receive tuition benefit during the following academic year based on the contacts taught in the previous academic year.
SUMMARY
This person will be familiar with and have a passion for the sustainable building concept. Additional education in architecture will be helpful. This individual must be willing to work with adult students and provide a safe, helpful, and interactive classroom experience. The ability to teach in the evenings is necessary to meet the needs of the students enrolled in this program. Skills in print reading, computer use, and multi-media technology will be helpful. LEED certification is not a requirement but will greatly assist students who are looking to take the certification exam sometime after completion of this course.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES and LICENSES
Required:
- Associate’s degree in or closely related to building, renewable energy or sustainable concepts
- 4 year’s experience in a directly related field or LEED Certification
- Working knowledge of computer software i.e Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- LEED Certification
- 5+ years experience in directly related field of sustainable building/design
- Prior classroom experience
- Experience using Moodle

WORK HOURS:
This is a part-time position. The work hours may include teaching nights and/or weekends.
