North American Roofing is a commercial roofing contractor in the United States. We are searching for a Commercial Roofing Survey Technician. This position is remote, however, we prefer someone located in northern Florida to be able to optimize the logistical support and customers in the region.
Purpose of the Job:
Conduct surveys of existing roofs to develop estimating packages for roof replacement.
Job Duties:
- Perform rooftop surveys and submit applicable reports and photo documentation within specified timeframe.
- Perform core cuts and fastener resistance tests as part of surveys.
- Attend pre-bid & pre-construction meetings as needed.
- Submit expenses to manager and accounting department in specified time period.
- Travel to job sites nationwide to conduct surveys.
- Work closely with technical directors and estimating to ensure accurate information.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in low slope commercial roofing
- 1 year minimum commercial re-roof survey experience
- Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and identifying roof and structural support components
- Must be able to represent themselves and NARS in front of customers in a professional capacity
- Must have exceptional organizational skills and a willingness to learn
- Must be able to clearly convey roof conditions and details in both a written and oral manner
- Travel required 4-5 days per week
- Ability to carry, set up and climb extension ladders to reach building heights of 30’ +/-
- Ability to carry up to 75lbs
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a hybrid environment (including office, roof tops, customer spaces, and warehouses). Repetitive bending and stooping with frequent lifting up to 75 pounds is required.
- Repetitive finger/hand/forearm motion necessary for completing data entry. Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephone keypads and copy equipment essential. Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with customers and staff.
- Travel will average 60%-75% depending on customer needs and visits to sites/customers.
- Must be able to lift and set up a ladder weighing up to 75 pounds.
