General Description: 
Perform clerical duties and assistance for the department to maintain a professional, well-organized and friendly environment among the students, faculty/staff and visitors.  Duties include clerical, receptionist, scheduling, and other assignments relative to efficient operations of department and/or college.
 
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sunday, June 14th, 2026
 
Status: Full-Time 40 hours/52 weeks
 
Pay: $17.91-$19.57 Per hour depending on experience. 
 
Hours:  Monday-Thursday 8AM-5:30PM, Friday 8AM-12PM
 
Occasional Evening and Weekends (Schedule agreed upon with supervisor)

 

 

 

 


Required Skills

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  1. Associate’s Degree or 3 years’ experience 
  2. Demonstrated ability to relate to people of all ages, races, and social-economic backgrounds.
  3. Demonstrated ability to operate office technology, software, & equipment. Establishing yourself as the “go to” person with all equipment and software. 
  4. Ability and willingness to upgrade skills including technology or process changes.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and outside persons.
  6. Demonstrated organizational ability, attention to detail, and solid decision-making skills.
  7. Demonstrated use of tact, judgment and discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality when working with students, faculty/staff and others. 
  8. Demonstrated history of dependability and punctuality.
  9. Ability to stay calm while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  10. Highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics and dedication to the mission of the College. 
  11. Demonstrated excellence in both oral and written communication skills.
  12. Ability to mentor, coach and work with student workers/interns while setting a good example by demonstrating professional workplace behavior and work ethics. 
  13. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a successful team member while accomplishing tasks and assignments without assistance.
  14. Flexible scheduling and/or willingness to allow for occasional evening and weekend work for orientation, special events and office coverage. 
  15. Requires prolonged sitting or standing, keyboarding and work on computer (hand/eye strain), speaking in English via phone or in person.
 
 
Essential Function:
  1. Serve as receptionist; answering routine questions, via phone or in person and/or route calls to appropriate people, may also provide directions to other rooms or offices. 
  2. Triage requests to screen for assistance needed by callers/visitors. Resolve or assist with resolution of complaints or concerns by using appropriate tact, judgment, listening skills and problem-solving ability to avoid escalation of issues when possible. 
  3. Administrator for departmental scheduling system(s) software ensuring all meetings and appointments are accounted for including all student appointments and walk-in times. Manage appointment reminders ensuring all students receive correspondence.
  4. Type correspondence for the department staff, and/or others assigned.  Including but not limited to letters, reports, and forms while arranging into appropriate format.
  5. Make arrangements for regularly scheduled meetings, and as directed for conferences/events.  Notify conferees, arrange meeting place, and making certain that all arrangements are made for food service and other details such as AV equipment, communication, agendas, etc.  Take minutes as necessary.  Type and distribute meeting minutes.
  6. Prepare accurate faculty load sheets for department (full-time/adjunct) and acquiring appropriate approvals so individuals are compensated appropriately. 
  7. Set up and maintain accurate and organized file systems, office supplies and inventories to include appropriate printed materials within allocated budget.
  8. Reconcile and process travel requests, purchase orders and expense reports for department. 
  9. Assist with development and maintenance of department web site and portal pages.
  10. Screen, hire, mentor, train, evaluate and discipline student workers/interns as assigned.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
