Muskegon Community College is a center for lifelong learning that helps people attain their educational goals by offering programs that respond to individual, community, and global needs. MCC is an associate degree-granting institution of higher education and an applied technology leader for high-tech, hands-on training.
With nearly a 100-year history of academic excellence, MCC is a public community college accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. With robust student success support, free tutoring, 20 athletic teams, events, clubs, and activities, MCC has an annual, full-time equated student enrollment of approximately 2,300 and an unduplicated headcount of 5,100.
Most recently, Muskegon Community College outranked all other colleges in Michigan for the rate of students who received federal financial aid and then transferred to continue their education at a four-year institution. The college’s transfer-out rate was the highest in Michigan, 7 percentage points above the state average, and outpaced the average transfer rate across the nation.
The College has an annual operating budget (general fund) of $51 million and employs about 210 regular full and part-time staff and many adjunct faculty and student assistants. The College also offers 52 Associate degree programs and 24 certificate programs.
The main campus is located on a 111-acre campus in Muskegon which includes the Hendrik Meijer Library & Information Technology Center, Bartels-Rode Gymnasium, Frauenthal Foundation Fine Arts Center (including the Overbrook Theater and Art Gallery), Stevenson Center, the Science Center, the Health and Wellness Center, Art & Music Building, and MCC Golf Course.
Muskegon Community College also operates the Sturrus Technology Center and Fab Lab in downtown Muskegon and extension centers in Ottawa and Newaygo Counties.

Muskegon County residents enjoy 26 miles of sugar-sand beaches along Lake Michigan’s shoreline, as well as one of America’s only luge tracks at the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park and the regionally popular Michigan’s Adventure Amusement & Water Park. An outdoor recreation hub with three state parks and swimming, fishing and boating on its many lakes and rivers, the Muskegon area offers dynamic downtown and beachfront restaurant and entertainment venues. The Muskegon Farmer’s Market is the second largest in Michigan. Cruise ships dock in Muskegon, while a high-speed ferry connects the city to Milwaukee. Notable local museums range from rare art collections to an actual World War II submarine and a U.S. Navy ship used during D-Day.

Salary Range: up to $62,000 depending on experience
General Description:
Individuals in this role will work under the general direction of the Registrar assisting with managing student records, creating and maintaining guides, program pages, course descriptions, and catalog information. This position provides assistance and support necessary to assist the Registrar with efficient college operations, especially as it pertains to records, registration, and transfer pathways. The primary responsibility of all persons assigned to this job title is to support the instructional mission of the institution and to promote positive student and customer relations.
Individuals in this position are expected to be available during the peak business hours of the college and may occasionally be asked to work more than their regularly scheduled hours.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three years of experience, with superior customer relations, meeting tight deadlines in an area that requires a high level of detail and where accuracy is critical.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI, Microsoft Office, database software such as Colleague, and reporting software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work; while ensuring accuracy and timely outcomes.
- Demonstrated understanding of Registrar Office functions, and ability to update and create efficiency in processes.
- Attention to detail with a keen sense of accuracy and confidentiality as well as the ability to analyze complex matters.
- Excellent organizational skills; and oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and work well with diverse clientele including students, college faculty and staff, and the public, in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- General knowledge of community college programs, services, and functions.
- Knowledge of institutional policies and procedures.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Essential Function:
- Update and administrate advising modules and other programs within institutional computer systems.
- Maintain and update programs and course information in Coursedog.
- Strengthening transfer pathways, articulated agreements, reverse transfer agreements and workforce focused initiatives to prioritize student transfer and outcomes.
- Assist in evaluating student transcripts to determine proper placement, corequisites, and prerequisites courses.
- Submit reports, process and verify student information and enrollment verification for National Student Clearinghouse.
- Respond to calls and walk-in inquiries from students, faculty, and staff relating to records, registration, scheduling, and other matters.
- Assist in processing student registrations, add/drop requests, and withdrawals.
- Assist with commencement preparations.
- Update and maintain student records, including archived records, census date checks and daily full-time/part-time update process.
- Maintain and update relevant databases, run queries, and create reports.
- Maintain and update information in the Michigan Transfer Network.
- Assist supervisor with budget review and recommendations, report generation, data extraction, procedure and process analysis, and achievement of yearly objectives for the department.
- Coordinate the services, procedures and policies of the department with the needs of other offices to ensure quality service and compliance with regulations.
- Assist with training and assignments of work study students.
- Assist with management of the Testing Center.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
