We're seeking a dedicated Sales & Business Development Partner to play a key role in fueling our success. In this engaging position, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing our agency relationships and increasing MSF's visibility and engagement within the community. Working collaboratively with both our valued agents and internal business partners, you'll be instrumental in developing effective lead generation strategies, cultivating a robust sales pipeline, and supporting the acquisition and seamless onboarding of new business. Required Skills
What you will do:
- Agent and Agency relationship management: Develop and enhance agent relationships and awareness through intentional relationship management, consistent marketing, agency event representation, and exceptional partner experience. Drive efforts to develop MSF as a carrier of choice for agents and agencies through collaborative problem solving, proactive support, and strong relationship building. Effectively communicate with agencies on a regular basis including routine and ad hoc updates and information sharing. Act as the primary contact for agency groups.
- Sales generation and pipeline: Develop annual and quarterly sales pipelines and prospect lists in partnership with agencies. Lead, schedule, and coordinate agency visits across the state, partner to develop and deliver new business proposals, generate new business leads and sales, and support business retention. Maintain a community-based presence to understand our partner and customer needs.
- Field underwriting: Effectively underwrite and provide proposals in the field within authority limits. Drive and support key account onboarding efforts and provide a warm handoff to MSF team to support account retention and success.
- Agent and account liaison: Identify at-risk accounts, develop and maintain at-risk list and assign ownership to manage the risk. Collaborate with internal business partners to mitigate and manage risk and execute risk improvement plans. Support key account concerns, including managing resolution with a remarkable response. Support account special requests, track and share concerns, and partner with internal stakeholders for intervention.
Required Experience
What you will need (minimum qualifications):
Required:
- A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in sales, business development, or leading agency relationships.
- Previous underwriting experience or strong familiarity with underwriting approaches within worker’s compensation.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Acceptable driving record and ability to regularly travel throughout the entire state of Montana.
- Must have current Montana Workers’ Compensation Producer License or ability to obtain Montana Workers’ Compensation Producer License within 60 days of hire.
Job location: This position requires regular travel across the State of Montana to effectively engage with partners and stakeholders. While the position offers flexibility within Montana, candidates should anticipate frequent travel throughout the state. Relocation to Montana is a requirement for this role.
Compensation and Benefits: Starting salary for the position begins at $79,500 - $99,300. This is an exempt position: 3B.
