The Director of Strategic Advancement helps us deliver on our mission and vision by leading and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives through developing, executing, and optimizing strategic programs and projects. This role is responsible for identifying and initiating strategic work, balancing project priorities within the portfolio, directing resources, monitoring readiness, and ensuring successful program outcomes with consistent delivery across strategic programs. This position leverages business acumen, leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization to drive business impact, redirect, and prioritize efforts while allocating resources. 

 


Required Skills

What you will do:

  • Program Ownership, Strategy, and Planning: As a program and project owner, design and build strategic and enterprise level programs to achieve business objectives. Establish program roadmaps, define success metrics, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Oversee program requirements, readiness assessments, and execution plans. Monitor program progress and ensure timely delivery of milestones. Support specific project needs at a variety of project contribution levels when required. Determine program start times based on readiness assessments and enterprise needs. Solution for responses and risks to issues.
  • Enterprise strategy: Act as a strategic planning leader and contributor, ensuring successful execution of the current strategic plan. Identify and initiate strategic work and act as a communication liaison across the organization regarding strategic initiatives, progress, and change management. Support strategic meetings, and support facilitation and preparation as needed.
  • Interdepartmental Resource Management: Direct and allocate resources to programs based on readiness, requirements, and strategic importance. Align program needs with enterprise capabilities to optimize outcomes. Collaborate on IT requirements approval, prioritization of IT efforts, and resource allocation and alignment to support timely delivery of resources to prioritized efforts. Validate requirements, support governance efforts, and advise on cross-departmental intersections of work.
  • Change Leadership: Lead transformational change efforts by engaging stakeholders and aligning initiatives with organizational strategy. Act as a change agent to foster program adoption and success. Partner with executive sponsors to ensure business contributions and strategic alignment. Influence cross-functional teams to gain buy-in for program goals and strategies. Lead project teams and reporting teams.
  • Stakeholder and Team Engagement: Coordinate with leaders across the organization to drive collaboration and integration of strategic initiatives. Communicate program updates, risks, and outcomes effectively to all stakeholders. Lead and supervise cross-functional teams, including direct reports. Train and lead others on project teams to support program goals. Support development and engagement of team and stakeholders. 

Required Experience

What you will need (minimum qualifications): 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred) AND A minimum of 8 years’ experience in program management, strategic planning, or related roles.
    • OR a an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Program ownership and leadership experience.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits: 
Pay range LDR: Starting salary for the position begins at $111,500, with a midpoint of $139,400. The maximum pay is $167,300 per year. This is an exempt position.
