Accounting Senior Staff (Project Accountant)


As a member of the Accounting Department, the Project Accounting Senior Staff will be responsible for preparing invoices and any required supporting schedules for cost reimbursement, time and materials and fixed price contracts utilizing the Deltek Cost Point financial system while adhering to contractual terms and requirements. Additional responsibilities will include monthly unbilled reconciliation, project and workforce set up, funding allocation, project set-up quality review, addressing any customer inquiries or special requests regarding contractual workload and preparing final invoices once contracts reach the close-out phase. The Senior Staff member will be expected to provide guidance to team members and to support management with special projects when needed.  Some overtime will be required when deadlines must be met.

Required Skills

  • College graduate with a degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
  • 15 – 20 years in government contract billing.
  • Strong Excel skills are required
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
  • Able to work independently in a demanding environment is necessary
  • Ability to independently solve difficult problems
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and effectively apply capabilities
  • Provide recommendations for updates to procedures to help ensure process efficiencies
  • Must be able to adapt and learn quickly



  • Proficient in Deltek Costpoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
