|
Communicates cooperative programs, services, and new developments to the membership, public, employees, and the media. This position also helps prepare, edit, and publish cooperative publications and maintains and updates the cooperative website. Develops graphics designs to assist with advertising campaigns, new releases, and emergency/outage situations. Produces video, photography, and online and social media content. |

Working Conditions |

|
General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, and photocopier. Repetitive motions, multi-tasking, ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours including weekends and holidays. |

Essential Functions |
|
Create and edit graphic designs and publish high-quality internal and external communications, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, and timely delivery |
|
Assist with the planning, execution, and managing the organization's communications and marketing strategies |
|
Serve as support for the communications manager by assisting with media relations, public and crisis communication, presentation development, and graphic design support |
|
Participate in community events and organizational outreach while being proficient in photography and videography to capture cooperative events, meetings, and other activities as needed |
|
Assist in managing Cooperative’s social media platforms and create content as needed while assisting with Texas Co-Op Power publications schedules, bill insert programs, photography archives, and related records to ensure efficient and effective program delivery |
|
Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned |
Required Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, Communications, Business, or similar field
License & Certification: Valid Texas Driver License
Testing: Criminal background check, Non-DOT drug test, MVR
Other: MS Office programs, Professional graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Bilingual (English & Spanish)
Special Notes:
1. Very important to this position are: Spanish speaker, competent writer, attention to detail, dependability, cooperation, active listening, and reading comprehension
2. Important to this position are: Demonstrate creative thinking, independence, time management, and willingness to share perspective and ideas
Required Experience
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in communication or similar field
- Advanced photography & videography skills
After an offer of employment has been made, the cooperative requires a physical examination which includes both drug and alcohol testing.
