This position is responsible for coordinating the recruitment efforts of the Cooperative by working closely with managers and supervisors to fill positions as quickly and efficiently as possible, as well as developing new and creative recruitment and retention strategies. The Recruitment Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the cooperative hires and retains the best possible applicants while maintaining compliance with Federal and State laws and MVEC's Affirmative Action Plan.
Responsibilities of the Recruitment Coordinator:
- Manages hiring process, including: oversees applicant tracking system and evaluation of candidates, conducts interviews and background screenings, including physicals and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, negotiates and prepares offer letters, and schedules orientations.
- Maintains AAP data and records and assists the Human Resources Officer with EEO compliance efforts.
- Conducts recruiting analysis and improves the process as needed.
- Conducts and coordinates manager and supervisor hiring and interviewing training.
- Manages internal recruitment efforts, including employee transfers and promotions, and assists Human Resources Officer and Senior Officers with succession planning.
- Manages employee retention efforts, including: coordination of performance appraisal system and process, coordination of wellness program, annual health fair and vaccination program, coordination of employee appreciation program.
- Coordinates Drug-Free Workplace initiative, including: scheduling random drug & alcohol tests, scheduling follow-ups and/or return to work tests, and maintaining DOT testing reports and files.
- Coordinates Summer Employee Program and Internships.
- Provides support to the department's HR areas and assists the Human Resources Officer in preparing for meetings as needed.
- Observes and follows all safety rules and policies.

Required Skills
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- An Associate's degree in Human Resources or Business courses
- Recruiting and interviewing skills
- Phone and online meeting platform
- Professionalism, organization, and project management
- Familiarity with applicant tracking software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
- Comfortable making decisions independently
- Maintain the confidentiality of information related to all aspects of the Human Resources Department
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) applicants are preferred.
Required Experience
Applicants must have the following experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in recruiting
- Working knowledge of applicant tracking software and HRIS systems
- 2-3 years Affirmative Action Plan administration
- Experience developing recruitment strategies
