JOB FUNCTION
Directs the activities of their assigned shift, ensuring production schedules are met, while producing a high-quality product in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner. Supports operators' development and efficiency by providing sound leadership, education, and training. Continuously strives to improve methods, equipment, tools and materials through communication, cooperation, and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Specific to Production
1. Conduct pre-shift meetings to review work orders and process instructions that your staff will be undertaking that day, along with any safety or quality issues that need discussed.
2. Exercises supervisory control and direction over the company’s day to day production activities.
3. Ensure that work instructions are followed and that operators have received the proper training with respect to work instructions, quality requirements, and safety items.
4. Analyze and resolve production and human resource issues for staff on your shift. Request assistance from HR and/or the Plant Manager as necessary.
5. Ensure safe working procedures and good housekeeping practices are adhered to.
6. Ensure that plant efficiency is maintained at the highest level, without sacrificing safety or quality.
7. Oversee the safe operation of all PPS equipment, with adherence to standard operating procedures.
8. Operate the wastewater treatment system according to training and procedure, taking responsibility for the quality of the effluent to meet municipal guidelines through visual and quantitative testing.
9. Maintain good communication with employees to increase productivity creating a team-oriented atmosphere.
10. Conduct employee performance reviews.
11. Complete shift change reviews with in-coming and out-going supervisors.
12. Complete all administrative tasks including the review of your staff’s time sheets, machine/chemical cost collection, shift change review etc.
13. Recommend measures to improve productivity, safety, and quality.
14. All other duties as assigned.
Specific to Shipping and Receiving
1. Oversee the shipment/receiving of customer/supplier product as per PPS training.
2. Keep the shipping/receiving area organized in a manner that facilitates access and identification.
3. Ensure accurate entry of customer orders (Work Orders) in PPS’ computer system.
4. Accurate entry of customer packing slips in PPS’ computer system.
5. Perform quality inspections and report findings to the Plant Manager.
6. Assist (if required) in coordinating transportation of customer orders as required.
7. Report to the Plant Manager any discrepancies in known order information vs. the customer administrative requirements.
8. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Understanding of industrial cleaning industry with the ability to lead and motivate others to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation.
3. Professional oral and written interpersonal communication.
4. 2+ years supervisory experience preferred, ideally within the industrial cleaning environment/related to our line of work.
5. Proficient MS Office skills, preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to move up to 50 lbs., with or without accommodation.
2. Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves physical manual labor.
3. Ability to maintain alertness and fitness for duty.
4. Ability to position oneself for work conducted in and around confined spaces.
5. Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc.
