Estimating Engineer

Working under the direction of the Estimating Engineer Manager, provide support for quoting activities focused on Solutions. Primary responsibilities include identifying/developing the scope of work, cost estimates, and preparing solutions quotation for both engineered and project solutions. Establish and maintain relationships with the MEAU commercial teams, Solutions Partners, and 3rd party hardware/software suppliers.
Essential Functions
- Partnering with regional and commercial teams to respond to RFQs
- Defining and documenting scope of work and deliverables
- Building hardware BOMs, configurations, and networking requirements
- Estimating internal/external resources and labor costs
- Assembling comprehensive proposal packages
- Supporting proposal presentations and customer communications
- Reviewing orders for alignment and transitioning projects to PM
- Assisting with change orders and cost updates throughout execution
- Ensuring consistency and timely delivery of all quotes
Essential Education, Skills and Experience
- AS or BS in electrical, mechanical, industrial, process or systems engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project estimating
- Working knowledge of control panel and industrial systems, PLC, VFD, HMI, SCADA, etc.
- Ability to read and understand schematic drawings and translate to point wirings.
- Ability to apply UL/NFPA Standards to size/verify electrical components and cables.
- Ability to operate AutoCAD/ and SolidWorks software.
- Strong background in panel build techniques.
- Computer proficiency – Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access).
The listed salary range is approximate and reflects the anticipated compensation for this position as determined by salary analysis; both internal and external to MEAU. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation may also vary due to market factors. MEAU retains the right to adjust compensation based on business needs.
Expected Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 - this is an exempt position
Position is home office based within the United States.
