Work Order Analyst Position Summary: The Work Order Analyst is responsible for processing and closing work orders in addition to performing reconciliations. This position will also Purchasing with PO processing, inquiries and reconciliations as they apply to Work Orders. The Work Order Analyst is also responsible to process special equipment capitalizations and assist with special projects and general accounting functions in Plant Accounting department as necessary. All work is performed under the guidance of the Supervisor.
Work Order Analyst Position Responsibilities
- Review and verify materials are charged directly to the work order and reconcile "as built" staking sheets to material charged out of the warehouse
- Ensure that materials, labor and overhead allocations are posted, coded and/or charged to appropriate accounts
- Prepare and distribute miscellaneous reports as required and ensure that all reports are timely and accurate
- Maintain accurate accounting records for work orders and plant assets
- Review Standard Cost allocations to work orders in the Work Order Close Process
- Assist with work order processing, researching discrepancies and perform reconciliations, as needed
- Assist with work order close process, as needed
- Maintain the transfers, voids and abandoned work orders
- Detailed review of work order status and financial classification
- Work collaboratively with Purchasing, Warehouse and Engineering Operations colleagues to accomplish work tasks
- Provide accurate information to internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner, using the most appropriate format and means of transmission
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts.
Work Order Analyst Work Order Analyst Education
- Associate's Degree Accounting or related field of study (Preferred)
- High School Diploma Combination of HS Diploma (or accredited GED) and previous related work experience in a utility setting and/or similar industry (Required)
- Some college or technical courses in related fields (Preferred)
Work Order Analyst Experience
- 2+ to 5 Years working in NISC or other ERP system (Required)
- 1+ to 2 Years working in an accounting role related to work order or cost accounting (Preferred)
- 2+ to 5 Years working in a work order management system (Required)
- 2+ to 5 Years comparing data contained in a variety of financial records to detect errors and discrepancies (Required)
- 2+ to 5 Years completing reports, forms and preparing financial information for management review (Required)
Work Order Analyst Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) to include intermediate level skill in Excel (Required)
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities (Required)
- Accuracy in daily work and other projects (Required)
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines (Required)

- Ability to extract and summarize data and make computations (Required)
- Prior utility industry accounting experience (Preferred)
- Familiarity of FERC chart of accounts (Preferred)
