What We Need
Kymeta is seeking an IT Systems Engineer with a skill set that crosses multiple disciplines. We are a growing but still fairly small and agile company with dynamic and demanding needs. Our IT group is a motivated and creative team, dedicated to building scalable technology solutions that have broad impact and enable Kymeta employees to do their best work. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operational support for all on-prem and cloud enterprise solutions including servers, storage, network, security, and business continuity
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure
- Strong understanding of enterprise security best practices and how best to assess, protect, and monitor corporate resources
- Provide technical expertise and experience to evaluate new technologies and act as an escalation point for tickets prioritized from Service Desk resources
- Document tickets, processes, and procedures on an ongoing basis
- Attention to detail, strong analytical thinking & problem solving, self-motivated & highly organized professional
- Work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, consistently producing deliverables within agreed upon timelines
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Comprehensive networking knowledge: DNS, DHCP, VLANs, certificates/PKI, SD-WAN, firewalls, routers, switches, network traffic analysis – experience with Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) and Firepower (FTD/FMC) a plus
- Manage M365 security (E3/E5), including deployment and management (Defender and Defender ATP, Intune, Modern Device Management (MDM), AutoPilot, etc.
- Strong experience with Windows 2019 (Core and DE), Active Directory (Azure and on-premise) and group policies
- Experienced in Linux systems (Ubuntu) and Mac
- Virtualization solutions such as VMware’s vCenter, vSphere/ESXi, Horizon VDI
- Public and Private Cloud environment administration and deployment e.g., Azure (preferred), AWS, Google Cloud
- Hybrid (on-prem/Azure) Microsoft HPC cluster
- HPE Nimble and other storage systems
- Experience with Atlassian tools: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git
- Experience with SCM tools: Ansible, Docker
- Scripting experience in one or more of the following (BASH, Python, Perl, PowerShell)
- Experience supporting any of the following tools is a plus: Ansys HFSS/Electronics, Ansys Structural Analysis, SolidWorks, and Altium
WORKING CONDITIONS
Job functions and physical actions and/or working conditions associated with the position. - Participate in on-call rotation
- Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)
- Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift 25 pounds
- Repetitive work: Prolonged
- Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work
- Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs/day
- Data Center work will be scheduled in advance and evaluated for more than one staff member involvement depending on work and effort involved. This requires the ability to work in an environment with elevated sound levels, maintained at 68 degrees for a short period of time.
COMPENSATION
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $90k - $150k. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
