What We Need

Kymeta is looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, with a focus on the services/middleware side of the stack, to help us build scalable and transactional distributed systems to enable our next generation satellite communication infrastructure. This is your chance to take a major role on a small team and contribute to help implement innovative ideas assuring the success of our services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the product, web, and design teams to design and implement key features of the system
• Take a lead role in development of scalable microservices in a cloud environment
• Mentor other engineers, including reviewing their code and providing constructive technical feedback
• Design, document, and implement new features per business requirements
• Work with the team to review and extend the platform architecture
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Support Teams on building, maintaining, and monitoring the infrastructure
• Work with the operations team to develop our deployment and maintenance strategy
• Take part in the planning, scoping, and scheduling aspects of the project
• Collaborate with QA team to ensure best practices of code quality

• Ability to design & implement reliable, high-volume web applications, from front-end to service layer to storage
• Ability to derive detailed technical designs from high-level business requirements
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, working with multiple disciplines
• Able to set technology standards and process direction
• Able to review others’ code and provide architectural and technical guidance
• Able to learn new technologies based on the needs of the project
• Working knowledge of Agile Scrum development process
• Willingness to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Willingness to evaluate and challenge requirements and ask questions

EXPERIENCE/TECHNOLOGIES

• Ability to design & implement reliable, high-volume web applications, from front-end to service layer to storage

PREFERRED

• Experience with at least one modern JS framework for UI work (e.g. Nuxt, Vue.js)
• Experience in leveraging Azure assets and technologies in a larger solution
• Experience with Kubernetes, especially AKS

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in technology related field or relevant experience & training

COMPENSATION

Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $140k - $190k. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
