What We Need

Kymeta is looking for a DevOps Engineer to plan, build, and operate our Cloud Services operational and SDLC infrastructure. This is your chance to take a major role on a small team and contribute to help implement innovative ideas assuring the success of our services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the SLA of operational system
  • Work with development, IT, and NOC teams to design and implement key features of the system
  • Take a lead role in planning and development of our Azure ecosystem
  • Mentor and educate other engineers in the design and use of the Azure/network/cluster architecture of system
  • Work with the development team to develop, build out, and deploy our deployment and maintenance strategy
  • Design, implement, and deploy monitoring for infrastructure and applications
  • Monitor performance, cost, and health of operational system
  • Act as first point of contact for automated or field trouble reports

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to plan and deploy applications, network configuration, monitoring, and storage solutions in an Azure environment
  • Ability to derive detailed technical designs from high-level requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, working with multiple disciplines
  • Able to set technology standards and process direction
  • Able to learn new technologies based on the needs of the project
  • Working knowledge of Agile Scrum development process
  • Willingness to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to evaluate and challenge requirements and ask questions
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Significant experience with Azure Cloud Services
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, especially AKS
  • Experience with two or more of the following cloud-hosted technologies
    • Databricks
    • Kafka
    • GitHub
    • Infrastructure as Service
  • Experience with at least one relational database (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server) and at least one NoSQL data store technology (e.g. Cosmos, Redis, GraphDB, Azure Tables)
  • Experience with at least one asynchronous messaging system (e.g. Kafka, Az Topic Queues)
  • Proven track record of building highly scalable services and backend processing technologies
  • Experience with modern SDLC tools (any CI/CD build pipeline, Jira, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Development experience on Linux/Unix or Windows environments

PREFERRED

  • Experience with AKS
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience in leveraging Azure assets and technologies in a larger solution
  • Experience with Splunk

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in technology related field or relevant experience & training

COMPENSATION

Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $90k - $150k. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
