What We Need

Kymeta is looking for a Controller to oversee all accounting activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete accounting process, payroll, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable, inventory, as well as internal and external and financial reporting and audit management. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close process and review, including general ledger account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, miscellaneous journal entries, and month end financial close package
  • Ensure timely monthly financial reporting of Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows and Equity Capitalization Table for both internal management, investor reporting, and Board of Director use and analyses
  • Interface with other departments to verify transaction data and resolve any issues
  • Work closely with FP&A function to ensure a coordinated intercompany and KPI reporting
  • Respond to inquiries from the VP Finance regarding financial results, handle special reporting requests, and perform ad hoc accounting tasks
  • Work with respective outside CPA firm(s) to ensure efficient and timely year-end financial statement audit, federal / state / international tax compliance, and federal R&D credit engagements
  • Work with Legal to support equity plan administration and third-party support of equity administrative software
  • Manage payroll process:
    • Submission of exempt, non-exempt, and bonus wage payments
    • Ensure payroll costs are accurately allocated to respective projects
    • All federal, international, and state payroll compliance requirements are met
  • Assist in documentation, development, and implementation of new process and controls within accounting and the organization
  • Engage with IT, Operations, and Sales Operations to define system requirements and provide implementation support for Enterprise software enhancements and integrations
  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions including responsibility for documenting such transactions (i.e. revenue recognition, development contracts, inventory / supplier agreements, capitalized software costs, etc.)
  • Provide leadership, management, and training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Work with direct reports to establish performance goals and objectives for each year and monitor progress

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years overall accounting / financial reporting experience with 5+ in a supervisory role
  • Very strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience in either Public Audit or Technology and Business Process implementation preferred
  • Experience in a global technology, manufacturing and services, or telecom, preferably in both public and private company environments
  • Very strong skills in Excel and ERP accounting systems (preferably Oracle Fusion)
  • Ability to work independently, under tight deadlines at times, and in a high growth / dynamic environment
  • Strong systems background, ideally with ERP and recurring billing system configuration and implementation
  • Ability to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close process including general ledger account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, miscellaneous journal
  • Communication abilities including verbal and written communication, the willingness to discuss questions or uncertainties in job assignments and to be able to positively interact with co-worker

 EDUCATION

  • BA/BS in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CPA preferred
