Job Purpose

Tungsten Automation helps organizations transform how work gets done. Our intelligent automation platform combines AI-powered document processing, workflow orchestration, and accounts payable and payments automation to help enterprises reduce cost, improve accuracy, and accelerate business outcomes. Our Professional Services organization partners with customers to design, deliver, and scale these solutions.

The Program Director, Professional Services is a player/coach role responsible for the management, escalation path, and career development of Project Managers across AMS Professional Services. This role carries its own delivery load on select engagements while building the PM discipline, peer structure, and coaching model needed for AMS PMs to operate as a consistent, escalation-capable practice across all territories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the AMS PM escalation path: set the severity framework PMs use to raise issues, and drive escalations to resolution or engage the territory Delivery Director or VP as needed.
  • Carry personal delivery responsibility on select high-complexity or high-visibility engagements, modeling the delivery standard PMs are coached toward.
  • Serve as direct people manager for all AMS PMs: goals, performance reviews, compensation recommendations, hiring, promotion, and corrective action, in partnership with People Operations.
  • Build a cross-territory PM peer structure and balance PM staffing against portfolio complexity and account risk, in coordination with territory Delivery Directors and the VP.
  • Drive AMS PM adoption of PM methodology and AI-enabled delivery practices, working closely with the PS Optimization team, which sets the global PS standard, and feed territory-specific gaps back into that methodology.
  • Own the PM career ladder and coach PMs on delivery judgment, client management, and escalation assessment.
  • Identify and develop future PM leadership, including internal candidates for this role and for Principal PM.
  • Champions the use of AI-enabled tools (e.g., chatbots, documentation automation, analytics assistants) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and streamline routine tasks while following company AI governance and data privacy standards

Pay Transparency Notice

Tungsten Automation is committed to fair, consistent, and transparent pay practices, wherever we operate. Before any interview or salary discussion, we disclose the following for this role:

  • Base pay range: For this role, based in USA, the base pay range is $180,000-200,000 per year, set using objective, gender-neutral and otherwise non-discriminatory job evaluation criteria applied consistently to all employees performing this role or work of equal value.

  • Total compensation: This range reflects base pay only. Tungsten Automation may also offer bonuses, commissions, equity, and benefits, described separately where applicable or required by local law.

  • How your pay is determined: Your base pay within this range will be based on objective, non-discriminatory factors — such as location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and education or training. It will not be reduced based on prior salary, and will not fall below the disclosed range or below what colleagues performing equal work or work of equal value receive.

  • Salary history: Tungsten Automation does not ask candidates about current or past pay, and you are not required to disclose it, except where local law expressly permits or requires this.

  • Your right to discuss pay: Nothing in this notice limits your right to discuss your own pay, to negotiate, or your entitlement to equal pay for equal work or work of equal value. Tungsten Automation does not retaliate against employees or candidates for discussing compensation.

While the job description describes what is anticipated as the requirements of the position, the job requirements are subject to change based upon any changing needs and requirements of the business.

Required Skills

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in professional services or technology delivery, including at least 3 years directly managing project managers (people management experience, not project management experience alone, is required).
  •  PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program or project management certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of a delivery methodology across a multi-team or multi-region organization, working through a standards-owning team rather than owning the standard personally.
  • Track record of coaching PMs on escalation judgment and client-facing delivery decisions, not just project mechanics.
  • Hands-on experience using AI in project delivery engagements, for example to draft plans, status reports, and risk and issue logs, or to check deliverable completeness, with human review of AI output and protection of customer data built into how you work.
  • A clear point of view, informed by your own use of AI in delivery, on how AI changes PM coaching, staffing, and performance expectations, and how you would measure that impact.
  •  Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience delivering intelligent automation, document processing, or enterprise software implementations.
    • Experience leading Project Management teams across North America
