IT Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Purpose

As an IT QA Engineer, you will play a vital role in the end-to-end quality assurance of our critical business systems, including Salesforce, NetSuite, and our custom licensing tool. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to design and execute comprehensive test plans, conduct various types of testing, and report defects. Your attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve issues will contribute to the overall success of our organization. 

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts and development teams to understand system requirements and contribute to the design of effective test plans and test cases.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to ensure the quality and reliability of our business systems.
• Identify, document, and report software defects and anomalies to the development team using established defect tracking systems.
• Reproduce and troubleshoot defects with developers to assist in their timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain test environments, test data, and test cases to support accurate and efficient testing processes.
• Conduct manual and automated testing as necessary, leveraging appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Collaborate with project managers to prioritize testing efforts and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to QA and software testing.
• Contribute to improving and refining IT QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a culture of quality, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an IT QA Engineer or similar role, with a focus on end-to-end quality assurance for business systems.
• Solid understanding of IT QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with experience in manual and automated testing.
• Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) is highly desirable.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well within cross-functional teams.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Ability to develop test automation (C#, Net and scripting languages)
• Ability to clearly document performance test results
• Knowledge of software development and programming practices
• Excellent English communication skills required
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and possesses past success in bringing different business cultures together towards common goals

• Experience and success working with virtual teams that span departments and time zones
