We are seeking a highly motivated, advanced AI Researcher to join our AI Office, supporting the continued innovation & market leadership of the TotalAgility platform. This role is pivotal in shaping product vision, driving content marketing, & ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of AI advancements.

We are seeking a hands-on AI Researcher with experience working with knowledge graphs, advanced RAG systems, & agentic intelligence. This pivotal remote role will drive innovation in unstructured content processing, develop knowledge management systems, & implement next-generation agentic IDP (Intelligent Document Processing) solutions. You will lead research & prototype advanced RAG implementations, including Multi-step RAG, Agentic RAG, GraphRAG, & non-vector alternatives.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced RAG & Knowledge Systems Development

·        Design & implement GraphRAG architectures that combine vector search with knowledge graph traversal for enhanced document understanding & retrieval.

·        Develop ontologies & taxonomies for complex domain-specific knowledge representation over vector-hybrid database systems.

·        Build & optimize multi-step RAG pipelines for complex, multi-document reasoning tasks.

·        Research & prototype agentic RAG systems that dynamically plan retrieval strategies & adapt to user intent.

Knowledge Graph Engineering & Database Integration

·        Create & maintain large-scale knowledge graphs, integrating structured & unstructured data sources.

·        Design vector-hybrid database architectures, combining graph databases with modern vector stores.

·        Implement graph-based reasoning systems for document analysis & content extraction.

·        Develop semantic search capabilities leveraging both embedding similarity & graph relationships.

Agentic IDP & Intelligent Document Processing

·        Build autonomous agents for complex document processing workflows, capable of multi-step reasoning & decision-making.

·        Design intelligent systems for unstructured content processing that adapt strategies based on document types & content characteristics.

·        Implement advanced information extraction pipelines using state-of-the-art LLM / NLP models & knowledge graph reasoning.

·        Develop agent orchestration frameworks for coordinating multiple AI models in document processing workflows.

Research, Prototyping & Innovation

·        Conduct research in retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graph reasoning, & agentic AI systems.

·        Prototype novel approaches to information retrieval beyond traditional vector-based methods.

·        Evaluate & benchmark RAG architectures, knowledge representation approaches, & agent frameworks.

·        Stay current with the latest developments in knowledge graphs, retrieval systems, & agent-based AI architectures.

Product Development & Technical Leadership

·        Collaborate with product management & engineering teams to translate research insights into production-ready features.

·        Design scalable architectures for knowledge-intensive AI applications handling enterprise-scale document volumes.

·        Provide technical guidance on AI Search implementations, semantic search optimization, & knowledge management systems.

·        Lead technical discussions & contribute to strategic decisions regarding AI system architecture & technology stack.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience designing and deploying AI-powered systems using Generative AI & Machine Learning
  • Strong self-starter who thrives independently and contributes to team success through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Proven experience in AI research, working with technologies such as IDP, OCR, LLMs, MCP, RAG & AI Knowledge Bases / Graphs.
  • Competent programming in languages like Python, C# or JavaScript, & using related technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, REST, LangChain, PageIndex & MCP, for machine learning & document processing use cases.
  • Deep understanding of RAG architectures using vector, graph & tradition database technologies.
  • Experience with LLMs, embedding models, transformer architectures.
  • Experience with vector DBs (Qdrant, Weaviate, Pinecone), graph DBs (Neo4j, ArangoDB, Microsoft Graph) and/or search technologies (Lucene, Azure AI Search, Elasticsearch).
  • Experience working with storage, database & AI services from cloud vendors such as Microsoft, Google or AWS is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with approaches to automated testing, evals & benchmarking of AI solutions.
  • Self-driven, proactive, & comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional team.

Required Experience
