ABOUT THE ROLE  

The Sr. Sales Engineer for Public Sector/Federal provides pre-sales technical support for all Tungsten Automation products and associated applications within federal, state, and local government. While assigned to a geographic area, Sr. Sales Engineers collaborate with and backup peers nationwide to provide efficient pre-sales support to government agencies. This role is responsible for preparing demonstrations, handling technical issues, maintaining product knowledge, and supporting the sales process from initial government prospect contact through successful implementation transition. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Prepare standard and custom demonstrations for Tungsten Automation Account Managers and resellers serving Federal, state, and local government agencies 

  • Handle all pre-sales technical issues professionally and efficiently for government clients 

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Tungsten Automation products and content repositories 

  • Develop understanding of government operations and compliance requirements across federal, state, and local agencies 

  • Support government business processes through process assessments, solution development, and requirements analysis 

  • Respond to technical questions in government RFI/P/Qs and share best practices with other Sales Engineers 

  • Create and distribute reusable assets for the Tungsten Automation community including demonstrations, presentations, training materials, and whitepapers focused on government use cases 

  • Provide feedback to Product Development regarding new features, performance improvements, and bug elimination relevant to government needs 

  • Manage transition from pre-sales to post-sales by preparing Professional Services for efficient government installations 

  • Prepare resellers on technical aspects of Tungsten Automation solutions for government sector and serve as technical point of contact 

  • Conduct interviews with government prospects to determine business requirements and build valid Return on Investment analysis 

  • Deliver professional presentations and demonstrations while managing multiple concurrent government sales campaigns 

  • Support solution selling methodologies and utilize the Tungsten Automation Sales Process for government sector 

  • Work with key Technology Partners to identify and develop new business opportunities within government agencies 

  • Support Tungsten Automation related marketing events focused on public sector

Required Experience

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED 

  • 5-8 years' experience supporting a solution sales team in the pre-sales technical role, with preference for government sector experience 

  • Experience leading complex, technical, enterprise solution-based opportunities through successful close with federal, state, and local government agencies 

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, information technology or related discipline, or equivalent years of experience 

  • Understanding of government procurement processes, budget cycles, and compliance requirements including FedRAMP 

  • Professional presentation experience and publishing of white papers, blogs, or thought leadership assets 

  • Business analysis capabilities at both IT and agency level, including ability to document analysis in useable, shareable format 

  • Experience working with various partners and channel organizations serving government sector 

  • Knowledge and experience with Visual Basic and Java programming languages 

  • Understanding of networking and operating system concepts, J2EE, XML, .NET, OCR, ICR and their use in government business processing 

  • Fundamentals level understanding of Cloud, Cloud Services, and deploying Enterprise Software on government Cloud environments 

  • Experience in business process management/software industry with government agencies preferred 

  • Ability to travel 50% and lift/carry at least 50 pounds 

  • Excellent communication, listening, analysis, project management, and time management skills 

  • Strong presentation skills and experience in team selling and solution selling methodologies 

  • Integrity and commitment to providing effective solutions to government clients 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Proactive approach and ability to engage effectively with government stakeholders

The base salary range for this role, across the US, is $120,000 - $209,000.  Your actual base pay within this range will be determined by your work location as well as skills, qualifications, experience, and relevant education/training. The range provided reflects only the base salary for the role and does not include benefits.
