ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant is an experienced accounting professional who maintains accurate books and records for the company while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and internal control policies. This role encompasses performing routine account reconciliations, financial analysis, and transaction interpretation while working closely with the entire accounting team under the direction of the Accounting Manager. Senior Accountants directly impact Tungsten Automation's financial integrity and reporting accuracy through hands-on accounting expertise, month-end close management, and collaborative support for audit and compliance activities in a fast-paced, growing technology environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately accounted for in accordance with US GAAP standards and company policies
  • Execute critical aspects of the month-end close process including journal entry preparations for accruals, prepaid expenses, reclassifications, and other adjusting entries
  • Perform comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations and conduct detailed financial analytics to support accurate reporting
  • Assist with global financial consolidation processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of consolidated financial reporting across all entities
  • Analyze accounting results, investigate variances from expectations, and document findings with clear explanations and recommendations
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and enhance operational efficiency
  • Help ensure strict compliance with internal control policies and procedures while supporting SOX compliance requirements
  • Prepare detailed external audit schedules and provide comprehensive assistance with audit requests and inquiries
  • Review and analyze customer contracts to ensure revenue recognition compliance with ASC 606 standards and company policies
  • Draft and maintain technical accounting memorandums documenting complex transactions and accounting policy interpretations
  • Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as requested by management and cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate effectively with finance team members, external auditors, and various business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain organized documentation and working papers to support all accounting entries and analytical conclusions
  • Stay current with evolving GAAP standards and accounting regulations affecting technology companies and enterprise software businesses

Required Experience

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with minimum 5-7 years of progressive general accounting experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of US GAAP standards and ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements
  • Proven experience with month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized professional with strong independent work capabilities
  • Exceptional business acumen and logical problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex accounting issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities and experience working with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and expert-level Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system strongly preferred
  • Background in private equity-owned businesses and/or public accounting firm experience highly valued
  • Understanding of technology company accounting including software revenue recognition, subscription models, and SaaS metrics
  • Experience supporting external audit processes and working with Big 4 accounting firms preferred
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal control documentation
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, growing company environment with changing priorities and expanding responsibilities
  • Strategic mindset with willingness to move between responsibility levels and take on varied accounting challenges
  • Strong collaborative skills with ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a highly integrated team
  • Experience with consolidation processes and multi-entity financial reporting
  • Technical accounting memo writing experience and complex transaction analysis capabilities

The base salary range for this role, across the US, is $71,579 - $82,458.  Your actual base pay within this range will be determined by your work location as well as skills, qualifications, experience, and relevant education/training. The range provided reflects only the base salary for the role and does not include benefits.
