Management and staff in Tungsten Automation's Software Engineering job family help the company to build and improve new and/or existing software products and their applications that we sell to our customers.  The position of Sr. Software Engineer requires that appointees are capable of making independent technical decisions on assigned work.

We are seeking a motivated experienced individual who has experience with Oracle’s JD Edwards (JDE) product line (EnterpriseOne and World) with a focus on Accounts Payable and integration.
The small team manages a mature workflow/content management product solution with focus on JDE Accounts Payable invoice payment transaction management and automation.


•    Individual should be experienced as a Business Analyst in designing IT solutions and with JD Edwards (CNC type of experience or strong JDE integration background given the job requirements below).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•    Manage software integration between our Workflow product and Oracle’s JDE E1 and World ERP systems, primarily in the financial area, specifically in Accounts Payable.
•    Work closely external teams (support and professional services) and customers to support and implement our JD Edwards integration product offerings. 
•    Assist with supporting existing customers and new implementations.
•    Actively participate in the Quality Assurance testing phase to ensure deliverables meet the requirements, including creation of JDE transactions and data as needed for Dev and QA teams. Support our QA team during regression testing of existing JDE integration product modules and test case scenarios.
•    Create design specifications that address requirements within a change request or project scope (along with product and professional services teams).
•    Management of business requirements and translating them to specific software and technical requirements for the Dev and QA teams. 
•    Coordinate installation, setup and testing of new internal JDE environments with an external 3rd party JDE Installation\CNC consultant (internal JDE environments are used for Dev/QA only).
•    Keep current with new JDE releases and requirements and ensure management is aware of any important developments that could affect our products and strategies.

Sr. Software Engineers should be capable of independently performing most, if not all, of the following tasks:

  • Contributing to product ideas and innovation
  • Evaluating product roadmaps (working with Product Management, among other internal partners) to determine design and programming development requirements to meet customer needs (includes evaluating existing products and applications to enhance these and/or designing new products and applications)
  • Conducting research, where appropriate and needed, to solve specific design problems
  • Creating product and/or applications’ architecture and design documentation to specify engineering development requirements
  • Working with various internal partners (such as Quality Assurance) to test new or enhanced products and their applications
  • Participating in cross-functional build/configuration activities to ensure overall effective and efficient new or enhanced engineering design
  • Contributing to downstream business activities such as technical publications and other technical communications’ tool development to ensure streamlined and effective end-user use of Tungsten Automation's software products and their applications
  • Ensuring new or updated releases are completed on-time, on-target, on-budget and without compromise to quality
  • Supporting other internal and external partners/stakeholders/customers, as and when appropriate, in responding to technical inquiries
  • Staying abreast of industry and field developments; remaining current in the latest technologies and functionalities, as well as ever-evolving needs of customers and their customers

Required Skills

·        Work schedule: US Eastern time.

·        Must have experience working as a JDE integration specialist, JDE Business Analyst, or IT related JDE IT technical position within the Accounts Payable discipline.

·        Knowledge JDE Accounts Payable applications and transactions:

o   Non-PO invoice transactions (GL Coding)

o   Purchase Order invoice transactions (with and without receipts).

·        Understanding of JDE Z file processes for Accounts Payable (Auto Voucher and EDI mass import for automation of invoice transactions).

·        Familiarity with of JD Edwards Accounts Payable database layout.

·        Understanding of Relational Databases and SQL language (SQL Server, Oracle or DB2) and experience using database client tools (SQL editor or GUI tools).

·        Must be able to effectively communicate with internal team and external client to deliver functional requirements such as GUI, screen, and interface designs.

·        Must be able to define test conditions as well as accurate and complete test plans.

·        Must be able to conduct appropriate testing according to plan.

·        Must be able to share acquired skills with team members through formal and informal channels.

·        Must have strong PC skills including Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·        Optional but nice to have:

o   Experience with other workflow software solutions geared toward JDE integration.

o   Experience with content management solutions.

o   Experience with ERP systems, JD Edwards E1 or SAP would be a big plus.

o   Atlassian Jira experience, or similar defect management solution.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should hold the following qualifications, have the following experience, and be able to demonstrate the following competencies to be considered as a suitable applicant. Please note that except where specified as “preferred,” or as a “plus,” all points listed below are considered minimum requirements.

  • Bachelors Degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred
  • Typically has 5-7 years’ relevant technical experience
  • Has a minimum of 1 or more years’ previous experience with similar product lines or subject areas as Tungsten Automation
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently on larger or more complex departmental assignments
