Role Description
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of quality control within the soil production process, ensuring products meet established standards from raw materials to final delivery. This role oversees the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (QMS), conducts inspections and audits, analyzes test data, and enforces compliance with industry regulations and certifications. The Quality Supervisor will lead and train the quality control team, develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Key Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Soil Science, Quality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within soil, agriculture, or related manufacturing industries
- Experience managing a QMS, including compliance with OMRI, CDFA, or similar standards
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of soil properties, testing methods, and quality control principles
- Proficiency in laboratory equipment use, testing procedures, and developing testing protocols
- Skilled in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of quality metrics
- Experience writing and maintaining SOPs
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrated success in supervising, training, and developing QA/QC teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to leadership
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills
Other Requirements
- Ability to conduct site audits and greenhouse growth trials
- Knowledge of corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
- Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement
