Job Description

The Associate Engineer provides complete engineering support for all aspects of the product design process development for current and new products.  He will engage in research and design activities and will provide technical counsel to others within the organization, ensuring the highest levels of product functionality, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction to achieve organizational goals and objectives.  


Required Skills

Major Responsibilities 

  • Performing structural calculations and reviewing thermal designs and design steel for the retail side of the business
  • Analyzing test data and reports to determine if product design meets functional and performance standards and specifications, in addition to having overall business viability
  • Responding to special service, sale, and marketing requests and application issues
  • Planning, organizing, and integrating control and manage projects from conception to production by leading cross-functional teams
  • Designing and developing new products per specifications and coordinating design activities to achieve design requirements
  • Documenting designs per ISO procedures
  • Staying current with building codes and structural requirements

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 1 – 3 years of related experience
  • EIT Required and P.E. preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD is must. Knowledge in 3D software is a plus
  • Understanding of building codes in addition to structural and thermal design
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to be a resource for knowledge regarding the limitations and applications of the product, including electrical familiarity, and basic understanding of a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable with engineering terminology and a proven ability to complete geometric and trigonometric calculations, as well as read blue prints
  • Experience with basic properties of steel, wood, and urethane in addition to general knowledge of construction and carpentry preferred
  • Proven ability to conceptualize 2D and 3D forms
  • Travel 20%
