Jennie Stuart Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a full-time, regular Patient Transporter. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility by providing timely and safe transportation of patients, medical records, specimens, and equipment to various areas within the hospital. As a Patient Transporter, you will be at the heart of our patient care, often being one of the first faces our patients see, and therefore, you play a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience through your interactions and service. Your responsibilities will include transferring patients to and from their beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers, as well as assisting patients with mobility as needed. You will be required to follow strict safety protocols and handle sensitive information with discretion. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients. You will work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient movement and ensure that all transportation activities are carried out efficiently and with the utmost care. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be responsible for maintaining transportation equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns, and adhering to all hospital policies and procedures. This position does not offer a per diem and is considered at-will employment. The salary is annual and competitive, reflecting the importance of the role within our healthcare system.

Required Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with patient care or customer service is highly beneficial.
- Proven track record of reliability and punctuality.
- Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures related to patient transport is a plus.
- History of working effectively in high-stress situations.
- Experience in following health and safety guidelines in a clinical environment.
- Prior experience in a role requiring adherence to strict confidentiality rules.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in areas relevant to patient transportation and healthcare support.
- Experience working with diverse populations and the ability to provide culturally competent care.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
