Jennie Stuart Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate BHU Social Worker to join our Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) on a PRN basis, meaning as needed, at the JSH Medical Center. This role is vital in providing quality psychotherapy and social services to our patients and their families, with a focus on treatment and discharge planning. The BHU Social Worker will be responsible for conducting thorough psychosocial interviews to gather social histories and data, interpreting social situations in relation to the patient's condition, and modifying treatment plans as necessary. The successful candidate will participate in individual and group therapy sessions and Treatment Team meetings, contributing to the holistic care of our clients. As a Discharge Planner, the BHU Social Worker will work closely with the Treatment Team to ensure the provision of appropriate social services and will be the point person for accurately completing all discharge-related documentation. Compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including CMS, Medicare and state licensure requirements, is a critical function of this role. This position is Regular/At-Will, and the candidate will be based at the JSH Medical Center. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional behavior, support the mission of Jennie Stuart Health, and possess a strong knowledge of community resources, medical terminology, and effective communication techniques.

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work.
• Current licensure such as LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT.
• Must meet any applicable state certification standards.
• BLS certification American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current.
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance requirements as they relate to continuing care.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and conditions impacting treatment and discharge needs.
• Awareness of medical team roles and hospital department functions.
• Proficiency in effective individual and group communication techniques.
• Ability to conduct group therapy and support groups.
• Experience in discharge planning and coordination with Treatment Teams.
• Capability to represent the program at educational meetings as requested.
• Skills in data collection, compilation, and report completion.
• Commitment to professional behavior and adherence to the philosophy of Jennie Stuart Health.

• Extensive experience in providing psychotherapy and social services in a healthcare setting, preferably in a Behavioral Health Unit.
• Proven track record of successful treatment and discharge planning for clients in a medical or psychiatric context.
• Experience in interviewing patients and families to obtain comprehensive social histories.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret social situations and adjust service plans for patients' needs.
• Experience participating in Treatment Team meetings and contributing to patient treatment plans.
• History of conducting effective group therapy and individual therapy.
• Experience working as a Discharge Planner, coordinating with Treatment Teams to provide appropriate social services.
• Familiarity with CMS, Medicare, and state licensure requirements, and a history of ensuring compliance with these standards.
• Experience in collecting and evaluating data for quality improvement in psychotherapy, social services, and discharge planning.
• Experience with cognitive and effective testing data collection as part of a medical team.
