Job Summary
The associate is responsible for posting payments in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires detailed analysis as well as strong critical thinking skills. The associate will follow cash balancing guidelines.
Minimum Education
High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Practices excellent customer service skills with both internal and external contacts.

Essential Functions
Monitor automated 835 uploading process.
Post all payments and remittance within 24 hours of receiving it.
Reconcile payments received via mail.
Maintains balancing sheet.
Identifies the correct insurance carrier codes to post for the payment.
Determines which monies need to be posted to the general ledger.
Verify all zero payment remits are posted and appropriate contractual adjustments applied.
Limit what is posted to Unapplied Cash and resolve what is posted by the end of current week or when the information has been received to determine where it should be posted.
Make appropriate notes on patient’s accounts as needed.
Adheres to policies and procedures as required by Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Participates in and attend meetings and training as required.
Manages various adjustments for the organization.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Experience
One to two years of experience in banking, accounting, or a related field is required.
