Jennie Stuart Health is seeking a dedicated and professional Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This full-time, regular/at-will position is based at the JSH-Medical Center and requires no travel. As an HR Generalist, you will be instrumental in performing HR-related duties at a professional level, working closely with senior HR management to support our hospital and clinics. Your role will encompass a variety of functional areas including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. You will manage the daily functions of the HR department, including hiring, setting up new employees in the payroll system, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Organizational expectations include providing a positive and professional representation of the organization, promoting a culture of safety, maintaining hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment, adhering to infection-control policies, participating in quality improvement activities, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies for handling confidential patient information. Essential functions of the role include providing support and training in employee recruitment, hiring, retention, discipline, evaluation, and relations; executing HR programs; supporting recruitment functions; assisting with pre-hire and post-hire checks; supporting onboarding and hiring processes; providing data processing entry and administration support; conducting orientation and training; maintaining knowledge of company policies and employment-related rules; coordinating leave administration; serving as a link between management and employees; conducting record audits and mandatory reports; assisting with performance review processes; maintaining employee records; collecting and compiling HR metrics and data; preparing and presenting summary reports; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- PHR/ SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Required Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a clerical, secretarial, or administrative position
- Computer literacy is essential
- Effective communication and organizational skills are mandatory
- 1-2 years’ Human Resource experience is preferred
- Experience in healthcare or related industry is a plus
- Experience with HRIS and talent management systems is highly desirable
- Proven track record of handling confidential information with discretion
- Experience in conducting training sessions and employee orientations
- Familiarity with conducting audits and compliance reviews
- Experience in employee relations and performance management processes
- Knowledge of and experience with benefits administration
- Experience in recruitment and staffing procedures
