The Staff Accountant supports the firm’s financial operations by preparing accurate financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and performing key accounting functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within the Corporate Accounting team.

The annual salary range for this position is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Prepare consolidated internal financial statements by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from the general ledger
- Execute period‑end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Research and interpret financial data to respond to accounting and financial inquiries
- Analyze accruals and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Review accounts payable documentation for proper coding and adherence to internal policies
- Prepare schedules and compile supporting documentation for financial audits, project audits, and FAR audits
- Assist with preparation of tax filings
- Maintain the fixed asset system and record related transactions
- Support the development and maintenance of the annual budget
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of accounting systems and related software
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 0-2 years of general ledger accounting experience
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
