If you’re looking for an opportunity to apply your project management skills to high‑impact internal initiatives, join the JMT Design Center of Excellence (DCOE). This role supports DCOE’s mission of advancing JMT’s digital delivery capabilities through improvements in design technology, workflow development, AI adoption, and cross‑practice collaboration.

You will lead internal strategic projects spanning Bentley and Autodesk design systems, modernization efforts, and technology/process‑driven initiatives. We are seeking someone who can coordinate across departments, translate needs into actionable plans, and help increase organizational awareness of DCOE’s capabilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Actively engage in the technical and business context of assigned initiatives
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality for internal projects
  • Prepare and maintain project management plans, WBS documentation, and resource forecasts
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules for initiative delivery
  • Prepare agendas, facilitate meetings, document minutes, and track action items
  • Prepare progress reports and initiative metrics as required
  • Validate, organize, and maintain project documentation

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Provide consistent and direct communication with internal stakeholders across JMT
  • Coordinate with the Communications Group to promote DCOE visibility and engagement
  • Prepare and deliver project presentations to leadership, project teams, and technical groups
  • Maintain strong internal customer relationships and manage expectations
  • Ensure alignment across multidisciplinary teams and internal partners

Business & Technical Analysis

  • Gather and document business requirements; translate them into functional specifications
  • Work with internal SMEs to identify and define effective solutions
  • Research workflow, product, and technology needs and communicate findings clearly
  • Develop scopes of work for projects involving technology integration, COTS solutions, or workflow improvements

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Assist in developing and tracking initiative operating budgets
  • Manage subconsultants and vendors when required
  • Support resource planning across concurrent initiatives
  • Travel occasionally within the corporate footprint to support JMT initiatives

DCOE Engagement & Advocacy

  • Actively participate in internal groups to help promote DCOE capabilities
  • Support DCOE’s mission by ensuring project visibility and internal awareness

 Nonessential Functions

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 


Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience involving application development or technology‑driven initiatives
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations
  • Experience writing technical scopes, proposals, and project documentation
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
  • Experience with Bentley, Autodesk, ESRI, or Trimble design and construction technologies

 Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience implementing technology or workflow solutions in a consulting or internal‑consulting capacity
  • Experience supporting transportation, survey, digital delivery, water/wastewater, facilities, environment, or similar technical practices

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking, and use of a motor vehicle for duties outside the office. Lifting and carrying objects up to 20 pounds. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
