Position summary: Responsible for various tasks and projects, as assigned, to assist Natural Resources Section staff with project-related assignments.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Data entry, spreadsheet development and some technical writing
- Participate in field investigations
- Make edits and updates to data tables, summarize site investigations at the direction of other staff
- GIS/CADD responsibilities, depending upon experience with ArcGIS or MicroStation
- Assist with administrative duties
- Maintain accurate and current project documentation
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Experience
- Full-time student in Environmental or Biological Sciences or similar discipline
Preferred Experience
- Coursework in related field
- Academic background in field-oriented studies (botany, ecology, fisheries, etc.) with field experience preferred
- Previous internship experience
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment, but may include up to a day at a time in the field. Office work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Field work can require some strenuous activities in adverse conditions (hot or cold weather) involving carrying up to 25 pounds, walking up slopes, etc.
