Position summary: JMT is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator in the Washington, DC area for an exciting opportunity to work with the federal government. The position provides cost estimating assistance for design and construction projects using knowledge of design principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute.

The annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00.

Essential skills and responsibilities

• Experience providing cost estimating support to Architects and Engineers, including development of independent cost estimates on new projects, and evaluation of outside construction cost estimates
• Experience performing as a consultant in the establishment of project budgets
• Experience with cost estimating software such as RS Means

Required Skills

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Required Experience

• US Government Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree
• 10 years’ experience in commercial/government office building design and construction

Preferred Experience

US Government Top Secret security clearance.

Experience working with governmental agencies at the federal, city, county and state levels.

20 years’ experience as Architect in commercial/government office building design and construction.

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
