The VP, Revenue Accounting will lead the organization’s revenue accounting function, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP ASC 606 and other applicable standards. This role will oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of revenue recognition policies, analyze and document accounting treatment for new service offerings, manage a high-performing accounting team, and partner cross-functionally to support strategic growth initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue accounting principles, along with the ability to navigate ambiguity and to enhance revenue accounting processes.  

We are committed to fair and transparent compensation. The salary range for this role is based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications and is $170,000 to $200,000. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead all aspects of revenue recognition, including contract review, policy development, process optimization, and technical accounting analysis. 

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue in compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards in accordance with monthly, quarterly and annual requirements. 

  • Oversee close processes related to revenue, including reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis. 

  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and FP&A teams to review revenue contracts and new service offerings to assess and document technical accounting implications. 

  • Develop and maintain internal controls over revenue processes to align with SOX compliance standards. 

  • Provide technical guidance and training to accounting staff and business partners. 

  • Prepare and present revenue-related analyses and reports to executive leadership. 

  • Develop and implement scalable revenue policies, procedures, and systems to support revenue growth and to improve efficiency and accuracy across accounting operations. 

  • Collaborate with FP&A, treasury, and other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. 

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy including through the application of AI tools. 

  • Manage interactions with external auditors for revenue accounting.  


Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Proven track record of managing complex revenue arrangements in a fast-paced environment with a strong understanding of the full revenue lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strategic leadership with a hands-on approach.
  • Results-oriented, highly motivated self-started with a proven ability to manage projects end-to-end, consistently meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Commitment to integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement. 

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems and revenue automation tools preferred.
  • Managerial experience.
