The Client Payroll Tax Supervisor is an integral part of our Client Financial Services team. The supervisor coordinates and supervises activities of the Payroll Tax Team that prepares, audits and delivers global payroll reporting and payroll instructions and US/Canada taxability and gross-up reporting.  Performs in a supervisory capacity leading, teaching, and coaching the team for optimal performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees a team of payroll specialist delivering global payroll services through preparation, audit and delivery of all service products.  Service products include global payroll reporting, US and Canadian taxability reporting, gross-up calculations, net check instruction, payroll instructions and yearend support.  Monitors for compliance to audit directives, client service level agreements, cycle time standards, quality goals,  and client satisfaction targets.   Closely monitors team workflow and adjusts strategies to prevent financial risks/penalties and adherence to deadlines.  Responsible for the execution of process changes.
  • Ensures that payroll reconciliations are complete and in alignment with all deliverables and that discrepancies resulting from process breakdowns, missed/inaccurate payments, or payroll deviation from Graebel instruction are addressed and fully rectified.
  • Supervises or assists with the resolution of escalations from Transferees/Assignees, Clients, Tax Providers, Operations other CFS internal business partners and others to insure issues are resolved timely and completely.  Uses escalations as appropriate for additional staff training or to improve processes.
  • Responsible for the onboarding and training of employees. Participates in the interview process .  Completes performance and merit evaluations in a timely manner.  Provides continued development and training opportunities to staff preparing them for additional responsibilities.  Actively promotes team members' career goals and progression, ensuring informal feedback and formal appraisals/ one on ones are provided.
  • Aids in goal planning and monitors internal reporting to ensure goals are accurate
  • Other Duties as Assigned

We are committed to fair and transparent compensation. The salary range for this role is based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications and is $65,000 to $85,000.    


Required Skills

  • Ability to complete root cause analysis and create plans to address defects.
  • Ability to be accurate, organized, and attend to multiple tasks. Focuses on team tasks and objectives to ensure goals executed per department standard.
  • Able to make process change decisions with the assistance of their leader. Executes on department processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and timely at all levels within the organization. Excellent skills in listening, interest, and concern for people in order to communicate effectively with all organizational levels. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents, professional journals and governmental regulations with leadership support. Ability to give effective presentations to management and large groups: may require some support early in role.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to use Microsoft programs such as word, PowerPoint, and excel.
  • Ability to solve problems related to day-to-day activities. Recommend process improvements to address defects.

Required Experience

EDUCATION

Required:          Four year college degree, or equivalent experience in related fields 

EXPERIENCE

Required:          7+ years experience 

MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

Required:          Prior supervisory experience is required for external candidates.

Preferred:         Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required for internal candidates.
