Graebel are seeking to recruit an Assistant Accountant.  The Assistant Accountant will support the EMEA finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and help ensure compliance with local regulations. This role offers a great opportunity to gain experience in a global organisation, working across various EMEA entities.


Required Skills

Principal Duties

  • Journal Entry Preparation and Support - Prepare supporting documents for periodic journal entries and support schedules for various GL accounts.  
  • Financial Close and Reconciliations - Reconcile and analyse relevant balance sheet asset and liability accounts by compiling appropriate supporting documentation and resolving discrepancies for allocated accounts.
  • Payroll Support - Assist with the processing of payroll journals and with the various reconciliations for the regional entities.
  • Bank Reconciliations - Perform periodic bank reconciliations, investigate and promptly resolve reconciling items.
  • Compliance and Statutory Reporting - Assist in preparing VAT returns in various jurisdictions and with other local compliance including providing support during Statutory Audits.
  • Performs other related essential duties as assigned or requested.  

Required Experience

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field. Working towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA professional qualifications preferred.
  • Requires technical knowledge, training and understanding of job requirements.  Typically possesses 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience. Ideally experience gained in a multinational environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and analytical skills.                    
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across various groups. This includes verbal and written communications.
    Ability to show initiative in various tasks and projects.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with particular emphasis on Excel.                     
  • Experience with accounting software, MS Dynamics 365 or similar
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Ireland to be considered.
