Role Overview:
Could you be our next Agency Licensing Supervisor? Globe Life is looking for an Agency Licensing Supervisor to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across agent onboarding and lifecycle functions for multiple subsidiaries, including Direct Marketing, First Command, ESD, UA, Liberty National, Globe Life NY, and Family Heritage. This role provides first-line people leadership, supervises Licensing Specialists and Team Leads, ensures departmental readiness and compliance, and serves as a liaison between internal teams, field offices, and IT. The Supervisor helps create a collaborative team culture and supports field productivity by ensuring agents are properly licensed and appointed to conduct business in a timely and accurate manner.
This is a remote / work-from-home position.
What You Will Do:
- Manage and coordinate daily licensing and onboarding operations for multiple subsidiary business units.
- Supervise Licensing Specialists and Team Leads; assign work, coach staff, and monitor performance.
- Ensure all agents are licensed and appointed in the appropriate states in a timely manner to meet compliance and business readiness.
- Serve as the first-level escalation point for issues from Sales, Executives, Directors, Agency Owners, and other field leaders.
- Lead weekly team meetings and 1:1s with direct reports to maintain performance engagement and communication.
- Collaborate with IT on system performance and testing of licensing-related enhancements, including CELS and Appointment Automation.
- Drive operational performance through accountability, coaching, and performance-based goal setting.
- Develop and implement training materials and departmental documentation with support from management.
- Coordinate task distribution and staffing coverage during peak periods or system downtime.
- Monitor departmental inboxes, field questions from internal and external contacts, and ensure timely responses.
- Provide technical support to employees related to system and data processing issues (e.g., NIPR, IBR, CELS, Vertafore).
- Audit data accuracy and resolve system errors related to appointments, terminations, and status changes.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping for team members and support workflow documentation and audit tracking.
- Communicate issues affecting staff, equipment, systems, or workflows to leadership with a sense of urgency.
- Ensure post-activation processes are completed accurately and within service-level expectations.
- Coordinate with Compliance and Legal to support audits and complete metric stream submissions.
- Liaise with Sales, Commissions, New Business, and Compliance teams to support escalated agent lifecycle issues.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with IT and management to suggest or support system enhancements.
- Conduct field training calls or participate in market visits to understand agent challenges.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on changes in licensing processes or field-facing documentation.
- Assist with state audits by preparing reports and data validation.
- Review and revise departmental procedures as needed based on regulatory or business updates.
- Work with Legal to support changes in background check or agent contracting processes.
What You Can Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of insurance or licensing-related experience required.
- Experience in training, mentoring, or project coordination preferred.
- Strong coaching and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of insurance agent licensing, state regulatory requirements, and compliance documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels, from agents to executives.
- Detail-oriented with strong math aptitude, alpha-numeric recognition, and accuracy.
- Capable of handling confidential information and sensitive personnel or agent data.
- Ability to manage workloads under tight deadlines and production-driven expectations.
