Role Overview:

Could you be our next Unclaimed Property Team Lead? Globe Life is looking for an Unclaimed Property Team Lead to join the team!

 

In this role, you will play a key role in driving the operational effectiveness and overall success of the unit. This position oversees the team, setting and tracking production goals, assisting with employee evaluations, and guiding day-to-day performance. The Team Lead manages the workflow across the Unclaimed Property Unit, ensuring tasks are appropriately distributed and all deadlines are consistently met, especially during periods of high volume.

 

This role is also responsible for training new and existing team members and keeping position-specific manuals up to date. Additional responsibilities include supporting daily operations such as account reconciliation and customer service related to unclaimed property. They will also serve as the acting supervisor in the absence of the Unclaimed Property Manager.

 

This is a remote / work from home position.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Supervise, train, mentor, and monitor direct reports on all internal and external unclaimed property procedures.
  • Lead testing, implementation, and follow-up training on process improvements to ensure sustained productivity.
  • Maintain reporting tools to track departmental performance and activities.
  • Maintain and suggest updates to role-specific desk manuals.
  • Organize workflow and redistribute tasks during peak operational periods.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of all Bank Reconciliation spreadsheets for Tracker PRO, documenting receipt, research, loading dates, journal entry completion, and spreadsheet totals; verify data integrity through OnBase scanning.
  • Prepare and post journal entries associated with unclaimed property transactions.
  • Conduct policy research across multiple systems to resolve inquiries.
  • Identify and help resolve check issues, including premium refunds, claims payments, declines, cancellations, and invoice transactions.
  • Address information requests from policyholders, providers, state agencies, and agents in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with all state-specific unclaimed property requirements.
  • Import and process finalized unclaimed property spreadsheets into Tracker.
  • Fulfill internal requests for unclaimed property searches across departments.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records related to unclaimed property.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of six unclaimed property suspense accounts.

 

What You Can Bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Associates degree in accounting/finance preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of Accounting experience.
  • Unclaimed Property experience required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • TrackerPro - Unclaimed Property Software a plus.
  • Lawson & Workday ERP systems a plus.
  • Type 50-60 wpm.
  • 10-key by touch (accuracy a must).
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Strong organization skills a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manage details and execute effective follow-through.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Exhibit confidentiality and professionalism.
