Role Overview:

Could you be our next Supervisor, Premium Accounting? Globe Life is looking for a Supervisor, Premium Accounting to join the team!

 

In this role, you will be responsible for various operational aspects of the Premium Accounting department. Premium Accounting is responsible for premium application and/or oversight for Globe Life, including subsidiary subsidiaries Liberty National, United American, Globe Life NY, American Income Life, and National Income Life. This position is Supervisory in nature, with supervision over direct reports. The Premium Accounting team consists of 6 major groups: Premium Item Processing (PIP), Premium Exception Processing (PEP), Special Services, Special Groups, Worksite and Premium Collections AIL. 

 

This is a hybrid position located in Oklahoma City, OK (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

 

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for overseeing designated areas of Premium Accounting, including, but not limited to, payment processing, daily balancing and wires, account reconciliations, returned items, allotments, Worksite management, policyholder reinstatements, bank drafts, auditing, etc.
  • Monitor daily inventory and production in Premium Accounting.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure that deadlines are met, and payments are processed timely.
  • Complete various daily, weekly, and monthly reports for senior management analysis and decision making.
  • Responsible for completing monthly coaching and yearly performance appraisals of direct reports.
  • Review and approve payroll, production levels and quality for groups under direct supervision.
  • Work with IT/technical personnel to provide testing for various improvement projects throughout the department.
  • Identify system and process improvement opportunities throughout the department and work with management and supervisors to implement them. Make recommendations to senior management.
  • Assist with research issues from departments such as General Accounting, Customer Care, Legal, Conservations and Claims.
  • Monitor cost per unit throughout the department and identify causes of increases and decreases.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management.
  • Some travel is required.

 

What You Can Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Experience in customer service and accounting preferred.
  • Experience in completing, analyzing, and summarizing reports.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Accounting & Reconciliation concepts.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet rigorous deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work well in a team environment and have a positive attitude and excellent people skills.
  • Ability to manage a project, including testing and implementation.
