Role Overview:

Could you be our next Social Media Editor? Globe Life is looking for a Social Media Editor to join the team!

The Social Media Editor is a digital storyteller with a strength for creating content that breeds engagement and excitement for our social media strategy. This position is responsible for collaboratively creating visual content for our brand as part of the social media department, directly supervised and approved by the Social Media Manager. In this role, the Social Media Editor will be a visual voice of our brand across all social media channels, executing multi-platform content for internal and external campaigns through graphic and video design. 

This position includes attendance at company events, capturing of content, and creation of messaging that creates an importance for each event. As a brand ambassador this role must have a strong understanding of Globe Life’s mission and purpose and work to keep them consistent and positive within the Company.

This is an onsite position located in McKinney, TX.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Strategize and develop effective social media campaigns for internal and external initiatives, including sponsored posts under direct management supervision.
  • Be a visual culture ambassador to foster engagement.
  • Assist social media teams to create engaging social media content.
  • Support the design of graphics and video based on brand, copy, purpose, and other needs.
  • Under direct supervision of social media manager, execute brand standards for multiple brands.
  • Execute both graphic and video design work.
  • Identify deliverables within asset management resources to help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Attend company events and provide social media support as needed (some travel required).
  • Stay on top of the latest content requirements and trends in social media.

 

What You Can Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social media, graphic design, or digital marketing from four-year college or university.
  • Must have 5 years of professional relevant experience in social media or digital marketing.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Windows.
  • Preferred working knowledge of project management, design, and proofing tools.
  • Must have strong project management skills, flexibility to shift focus to different projects depending on business demand, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong video and graphic design skills.
  • Must possess a passion for social media and digital marketing industry.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Premiere, AfterEffects, Photoshop.
  • Familiarity working in Canva.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple assignments and calendars.
  • Shows enthusiasm and initiative taking on new projects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint; experience with Excel a plus.
  • Strong proofreading and writing skills are required with attention to detail.
  • Thrive working under pressure.
  • Effective communicator with management and team.
  • Link(s) to a portfolio or work samples are required for consideration for this position.
