Role Overview:

 

Could you be our next Reporting Specialist? American Income Life is looking for a Reporting Specialist to join the team!

 

In this role, you will be responsible for having direct contact with agents, SGAs, directors, and top-level executives by telephone, e-mail, fax and written correspondence. Duties include handling sensitive legal matters and providing timely responses to various regulatory bodies such as the Department of Insurance, Department of Labor and various unemployment state agencies as well as working directly with company attorneys.  Responsibilities include extracting, compiling, and analyzing data, problem solving, reviewing, and evaluating various agency related reports, and providing quality customer service in a timely manner.

 

This is a remote / work from home position.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Extract and/or compile statistical data from various established databases, sequel tables and resources to create and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ad-hoc reports, and summary recaps for management.
  • Create and maintain databases, forms, tables, spreadsheets, etc. to track assigned reports efficiently and accurately.
  • Work with team members to generate and share ideas for best methods of generating reports and recaps that are the most efficient and accurate for reporting/tracking purposes. Offer ideas and feedback to help overall departmental workflow and productivity.
  • Write and maintain detailed written procedures for all tasks performed. Crosstrain with other team members to cover each other during vacations and absences.
  • Establish and maintain familiarity with a large volume of statistical company data and assist in maintaining the integrity and security of the data.
  • Responsible for handling sensitive, confidential records and effectively communicating information directly (verbally and through email) with agents, SGAs, directors, top level executives.

 

What You Can Bring:

  • Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent thereof.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel programs.
  • Advanced Excel & Access skills such as writing/reading complex formulas, creating queries, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, macros, conditional formatting, IF statements, etc. is desirable.
  • Ability to use and understand various software packages required by the department.
  • Must be able to create PDF format reports. Must be detail-oriented and understands cross-verification of data and can understand downstream impact of reporting decisions that are made.
  • Minimum typing requirement of 40 wpm.
  • Demonstrate initiative and use excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills to independently make decisions and research answers and solutions for challenging tasks and assignments within established guidelines.
  • Must be able to remain focused on repetitive or routine tasks. Must be able to remain focused in a face-paced, environment. Must be able to multi-task and easily adapt to changing priorities and/or deadlines.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment required by the department.
  • Proficient communication skills including proper grammar, word usage, and punctuation in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to understand and apply a variety of oral and written instructions.
  • Must always maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Works well with a team.
  • One year experience in Agency Administration, Agent Licensing or Agency Accounting is preferred.
