Role Overview:
Could you be our next Support Specialist? American Income Life is looking for an experienced Support Specialist to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for direct communication with agents, agencies, and executive management by telephone, teleconferencing, e-mail, fax, and written correspondence. Additional duties for accounting include issuing manual payments, processing journal entries to the general ledger, and reviewing system generated accounting for accuracy. Responsibilities include developing and producing reports on a weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc basis, and providing quality customer service in a timely manner.
This is a remote / work from home position.
What You Will Do:
- Process payments for agent’s advance and bonus, loading expense recoveries on agent accounts, and providing detailed field facing reports regarding agent payments.
- Create and maintain databases, tables, and spreadsheets to track assigned reports efficiently and accurately.
- Work with management to develop and generate new reports and recaps based on department needs.
- Thorough review and maintenance of existing reports and functions, including creation of detailed written procedures and cross-training with other team members to cover workload during absences.
- Independent review of agent ledger balance for errors, providing management team with accounting and processing solutions to correct errors, and executing on those solutions.
- Assist with testing of system changes that impact the department including creating testing documentation and validating test results.
What You Can Bring:
- Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent thereof.
- One year's experience in Agency Administration, Agent Licensing or Agency Accounting is preferred.
- Minimum typing requirement of 40 wpm.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and various software packages required by the department.
- Ability to understand and apply a variety of oral and written instructions, demonstrate initiative, and use problem solving skills to independently make decisions within the established reporting guidelines.
- Must be able to work proficiently with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. Will need advanced skills and be comfortable reading and writing complex Excel formulas.
- Must be able to easily use Excel and Access functions such as creating and maintaining databases, VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables, IF statements, Conditional Formatting, Etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills and able to independently research answers and solutions for challenging tasks and assignments.
- Must be able to remain focused on repetitive or routine tasks in a face-paced environment.
- Must be able to multi-task and easily adapt to changing priorities and/or deadlines.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills (includes writing formulas to calculate payments based on guidelines, etc.).
- Ability to understand and apply a variety of oral and written instructions.
- Proficient communication skills including proper grammar, word usage, and punctuation in writing and verbally.
- Must always maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITY:
This position is structured so that advancement to Accounting Support Specialist II position (LG12) is automatic after one year. This position is structured so that advancement to a Senior Accounting Support Specialist position (LG13) is available upon completion of the following criteria:
One year experience in Accounting Support Specialist II position (LG12) and successful completion of LOMA ALMI Designation – OR – three years’ experience in Accounting Support Specialist position (LG12)
