Role Overview:
Could you be our next Premium Accounting Manager? American Income Life is looking for an experienced Premium Accounting Manager to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for all operational aspects of the Premium Accounting department. Premium Accounting is responsible for premium application and/or oversight for Globe Life, including subsidiary American Income Life, as well as other subsidiaries as determined by leadership. This position is Supervisory in nature, with supervision over direct reports. The Premium Accounting team consists of 5 major groups: Premium Item Processing (PIP), Premium Exception Processing (PEP), Special Services, Special Groups and Premium Collections CCG (Customer Care Groups).
This is a hybrid position located in Waco, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).
What You Will Do:
· Responsible for overseeing all areas of Premium Accounting (in conjunction with direct reports), including all aspects of individual and group bill payment processing, daily balancing and wires, account reconciliations, returned items, allotments, policyholder reinstatements, credit card reporting, bank drafts, auditing, etc.
· Monitor daily inventory and production in Premium Collections CCG.
· Allocate resources effectively to ensure that deadlines are met, and payments are processed timely.
· Complete various daily, weekly, and monthly reports for senior management analysis and decision making.
· Responsible for completing monthly coaching and yearly performance appraisals of direct reports.
· Review and approve payroll, production levels and quality for groups under direct supervision.
· Work with IT/technical personnel to provide testing for various improvement projects throughout the department.
· Identify system and process improvement opportunities throughout the department and work with management and supervisors to implement them. Make recommendations to senior management.
· Assist with research issues from departments such as General Accounting, Customer Care, Legal, and Claims.
· Monitor cost per unit throughout the department and identify causes of increases and decreases.
· Work directly with banks and other third parties, including but not limited to Debit Success used for our New Zealand business.
· Other tasks as assigned by Management.
· Some travel required.
What You Can Bring:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
· Experience in high volume processing/remittance processing/accounting preferred
· Experience in completing, analyzing, and summarizing reports
· Management experience
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
· Proficient in Accounting & Reconciliation concepts
· Ability to multitask
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Work well in a team environment and have a positive attitude and excellent people skills
· Ability to manage a project, including testing and implementation
· Previous leadership/management experience
