You have completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering degree. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. - Mechanical Design experience
- Knowledge of Machining and Welding techniques
- 3-D Cad modeling experience

- Strong "hands on" work skills (assembly, equipment/tooling checkout and testing, etc.)
Your Opportunity
This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Robotics and Tooling Mechanical Designer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the NDE Solutions Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. This position is in the Nondestructive Examination (NDE) Engineering organization, which specializes in developing custom remotely controlled, robotic manipulators and controllers, custom tooling, and the associated visual, ultrasonic, or eddy current inspection technologies and techniques needed to inspect nuclear reactor plant components. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the development cycle, starting at the conceptual stage and continuing through detailed specification, design, testing, and site implementation. Your work will include:
- Create first-of-a-kind solutions to meet customer needs and respond to emergent customer issues
- Perform conceptual and detailed robotic/tooling design utilizing SolidWorks and other CAD packages
- Design equipment that must meet rigid quality requirements and maneuver and operate in difficult environments
- Support tooling qualification and acceptance testing
- Travel to plant sites to get hands-on experience and see your designs put into action

Your Total Rewards Package
The range of base salary for the position is between $83,000 - $113,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
