You may have also acquired the following skills:
- Eligible for registration and P.Eng. In Ontario Canada
- Experience with Oil and Gas or/and Ontario Power Generation or Bruce Power Nuclear.
- I&C Engineering Core Skills:
- Control logic, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams
- Process Monitoring
- Integration with PLC (Schneider, Rockwell, ABB, GE, etc.), DCS, SCADA, HMI
- Instrument Selection and Calibration Specifications
- Software Qualification and Cyber Security
- Electrical Engineering Core Skills:
- Power distribution, Motor Control Centers and Switchgear, High Voltage Systems and Equipment Design
- Lighting design, Lightning protection, Grounding
- Battery and UPS sizing and design
- Amplifiers, Digital and Analog filters
- Electronic Circuits
- Circuit Analysis (e.g. coordination studies, arc-flash, load study, voltage drop and cable sizing calculations)
- Use of engineering analysis software such as ETAP
Your Opportunity
This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an Electrical/Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Pickering or Kincardine, Ontario (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:
- Performs non-routine and varied engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
- Receives minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions.
- Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
- Independently evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications.
- Continues to develop knowledge of organization processes and customers.
- Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product lifecycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies
- Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
- Physical Requirements:
- Remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel and crouch.
- Ability to operate a computer on a continual basis and communicate with various levels of the organization.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
