POSITION PURPOSE

 

Provides quality service while supporting internal and external members in a wide array of general functions for Consumer Loan Servicing. Responsible for upholding and abiding by Fortera’s core values and service expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

 

  • Provides administrative and loan servicing for existing Consumer Loans to include but not limited to the following.
  • Assists internal members over the phone with basic loan inquiries, and loan policy and procedure clarifications.
  • Receives and processes consumer loan servicing requests.
  • Processes basic loan adjustments, re-amortization (calculations), payment changes/adjustments, and loan extension requests.
  • Processes miscellaneous requests to include: mail requests, LOC closure requests, Letters of Guarantee, and Payoffs
  • Manages and completes, when possible, all Synapsis tickets to ensure items are being reported, tracked and resolved properly.
  • Completes Payment Reversals and basic adjustments.
  • Works weekly/monthly reports to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.
  • Ensures lien placement on vehicle loans utilizing the lien placement website. Manages open tickets and incomplete information.
  • Handles routine and confidential member correspondence and other departmental administrative needs.
  • Effectively communicates with team members, team leaders, external vendors and members by phone, in person, or through written correspondence.
  • Interacts effectively with all levels of management while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Attends and participates in all required trainings, meetings and committees.
  • Participates in community and civic events to promote awareness of the Credit Union in the community.
  • Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include Bank Secrecy Act compliance.
  • Performs duties with minimal direction.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned by management.
  • Ensures work area is clean, secure and well-maintained.         

 

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Maintains a less than 1% missing lien ratio.
  • Good working relationships and coordination exist with all credit union personnel.
  • Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely. Deadlines are met.
  • Meet individual and team goals as assigned.
  • Fortera core values are satisfactorily demonstrated.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

 

Finger Dexterity:                           

  • Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

 

Grasping:                                               

  • Using fingers and palm on an object.

 

Talking:                                                   

  • Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.

 

Average Hearing:                           

  • Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.


Repetitive Motion:
                         

  • Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

 

Average Visual Abilities:      

  • Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

 

Physical Strength:                       

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.  Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.  (Almost all office jobs.)

 

 WORKING CONDITIONS

  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
  • Frequent local travel.                                

  

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

 

Reasoning Ability:                         

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.

 

Mathematics Ability:                   

  • Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two-digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, and pound (or their metric counterparts).

 

Language Ability:                          

  • Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.
  • Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, adjectives, and adverbs.
  • Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.

Required Experience

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:            

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college or administrative training preferred.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:                  

  • Basic knowledge of loan products.
  • Understanding of document formats, spreadsheets, and Loan communications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Understanding on commercial loan terminology preferred.

  

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:                   

  • One to three years of financial institution experience.
