Position Overview

Under direct supervision, responsible for coordinating and completing projects within the information technology department. Oversee all aspects of technology projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and control the progress of technology project. Build and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Prepare reports for executive management and primary stakeholders regarding project status.

§  Provides project management of enterprise level projects.

§  Partners with the client to determine customer objectives.

§  Clarifies project scope.

§  Develops the project management plan as required by procedure.

§  Develops the project schedule as required by procedure.

§  Assists CIO in development of policies and procedures to support the achievement of the project objectives.

§  Determines the necessary resources and organizational structure of the project team.

§  Identifies services to be provided by external companies.

§  Internally attains staff for project positions or staff project positions externally.

§  Sets team direction.

§  Motivates team members.

§  Coordinates activities across different organizational functions.

§  Ensures project remains on target for completion according to the project management plan.

§  Defines, monitors, and remediates risks.

§  Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner.

§  Actively participates in Safety Work Groups.

Working Conditions

Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.

Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.

In some cases, radiological training may be required.

Minimum Requirements/Education

Associate Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or Information Technology field and 1 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  Typical experience ranges from 1-4 years.

IT Project Manager II

Grade Level:   11 (Exempt)

Minimum Requirements/Education

BA/BS in Project Management, Business Administration, or Information Technology field and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  Typical experience ranges from 3-6 years.

IT Project Manager III

Job Code:       IT30

Grade Level:   12 (Exempt)

Minimum Requirements/Education

BA/BS in Project Management, Business Administration, or Information Technology field and 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  Typical experience ranges from 5-8 years.
